Jade knowledge builds buying confidence

Know your jade

Choose with confidence

Jade is naturally diverse. Understanding authenticity, color, texture and size helps you find a piece you’ll love wearing.

Jade basics

Natural character is part of the beauty

Type A Jadeite

Natural jadeite that has not been chemically bleached, polymer-impregnated or dyed. Listings identify Type A and certification when applicable.

Color variations

Green, lavender, icy white, blue, yellow, red and dark Mo Cui or Wuji tones can appear in many combinations.

Stonelines & inclusions

Natural internal lines, mineral specks and inclusions tell the story of how jade formed. We disclose them separately from structural damage.

Translucency

From creamy and opaque to watery and luminous, translucency changes how jade catches light and shows its color.

Certification is identified in the individual listing. Custom Type A jade pieces include authenticity testing as part of the approximately four-week process.

How do I care for jade?

Wipe gently with a soft cloth and mild soapy water when needed. Avoid harsh chemicals, high impacts and extreme temperature changes.

Can you help me choose a gift?

Yes. Share the recipient, preferred colors, style and budget and we’ll help narrow the choices.
